This was part of my late Dad's collection of many, many things. This is a unique Bentwood, Thonet-style coat and hat hanging rack. It is circa 1900, so about 122 years old. This is a sturdy rack, perfect for gloves, mittens, umbrellas, etc, in addition to coats and hats. It weighs 3-4 lbs and can easily be picked up. The unique thing about this is that the main wooden piece is all ONE piece (according to information about Thonet, the wood was steamed and shaped so it would be in ONE continuous piece when finished.) I am not sure of the type of wood in this rack. There are 7 metal caps on each of the 7 protruding "hooks". They are slightly attracted to a magnet so, again, I am not sure if the caps are part brass or some sort of alloy. There are 7 rungs in the front of the lower "basket" and 7 rungs behind it as well. The rack is 33" high and 28" wide. The width is actually wider with the two hooks sticking outward. The width includes these two hooks. The depth of the rack "basket" is 6 1/2" but with the two hooks projecting outward, the depth is 8 1/2". The top wood piece has 3 holes for attaching to a wall or door and is 5 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" high. The price is $90 or BEST OFFER
