The Mackie Onyx 4880 is a 48-input, 8-bus live sound console that delivers the routing flexibility and sound quality for use in large or mid-size rooms. All 48 inputs feature balanced 1/4" TRS phone and Onyx XLR mic inputs. Onyx microphone preamplifiers deliver the sound quality associated with high-end microphone preamps, resulting in defined mid and high frequencies, enhanced low frequency control and exceptionally low noise floor. Flexible auxiliary routing includes 8 sends (1/4" phone) and 8 stereo returns (L/R 1/4" phone) with 4-band EQ, fader control, pan control, AUX and stereo bus routing for each return.

All input and stereo auxiliary return channels feature Mackie's patented Cal Perkins EQ. The 4-band parametric EQ provides an additional 6dB of control (+/-15dB) without excessively narrowing the "Q" or bandwidth. The result is an effective "musical" EQ that rivals the EQ sections found on larger consoles. In addition, a bypass (EQ in/out) switch is features on all channels for complete A/B style control over mixes. With all these featured the Onyx 8-bus Premium series proves to be a viable sound reinforcement console for indoor / outdoor concerts, theaters, houses-of-worship, clubs and more.
